| Ketzalkoatl
- A Bilingual Cultural Magazine
Aside
from performing and writing new material for his “Aztec
Stories” project, Michael is also the editor of a
bilingual cultural magazine titled “Ketzalkoatl.”
“This was a natural extension for me with regards
to the Aztec Stories project. I felt there was a need for
an educational resource that focuses on indigenous knowledge.”
In 1998, Michael spent time with the instructors at the
Nahuatl University in Cuernavaca, Mexico. With their contributions
(articles), along with additional articles submitted from
writers here in the U.S.A., Ketzalkoatl was born. Essentially,
this format was chosen in order to present the views of
writers, philosophers, artists, and educators who share
an interest in promoting the cultural awareness and knowledge
of Anahuak/America.
This
is a cultural resource in a magazine format. There is no
advertising contained within the magazine so it is supported
only by the contributions of those who acquire each issue.
Within the magazine you will find articles suited for educators,
parents, students, and those interested in learning about
the indigenous cultures of Anahuak.
I
hope you find this resource helpful in your quest for knowledge
and truth about our wonderful ancestral heritage. The writers
whose work you will be reading have varied backgrounds and
came to investigate indigenous knowledge for different reasons.
Some have academic backgrounds while others utilize what
I classify as intuitive/academic investigations –
reading all they can then tapping into their genetic knowledge
by means of focusing their search within themselves.
